We all know about the newest and fastest Disney rides, but there are so many overlooked rides in Disney World that usually have no wait time! Whether you’re simply not a thrill seeker, want to experience the classic Disney dark ride, or need a nice A.C. break in the middle of a hot day, these rides are perfect. It’s also worth noting that you don’t need to purchase Genie + for these rides either.
6 of the Best Overlooked Disney Rides
The Transit Authority People Mover: Located in Magic Kingdom, this “highway in the sky” travels over Tomorrowland. You even get to travel through Space Mountain and Buzz Lightyear Space Ranger Spin as you sit back and relax. This ride is the perfect Disney ride for the whole family. Unless it is the middle of the day during peak season, this ride is usually a 10 minute wait or less.
Living with the Land: Hop on a boat and travel through the greenhouses of the Land Pavilion as you learn about modern agriculture. I love this ride for a relaxing break in the middle of a long day in Epcot. It is often a walk-on!
Star Tours: Unlike some of the other rides on this list, this one is a bit more thrilling, but nothing too crazy. Located in Hollywood Studios, you get to travel with R2D2 and C3Po through Hyperspace to different Star Wars destinations. This is a 3D and simulator experience that requires guests to be 40 inches or taller to ride. This ride usually has a very short wait and is even a walk-on nowadays since Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge has opened up.
Gran Fiesta Tour: Located in the Mexico Pavilion of Epcot, get in a boat and travel through Mexico with the singing Three Caballeros featuring Donald Duck. This ride is similar to “It’s a Small World” in Magic Kingdom, but is much shorter. This ride often has one of the lowest wait times in the park, so it is almost always a walk-on attraction.
Walt Disney World Railroad: Ride in this classic train ride in Magic Kingdom with stops in Fantasyland, Frontierland, and Main Street. This is an original Disney World ride that is perfect for babies, toddlers, and grown-ups alike! There is usually no line for this ride, but you do need to wait for the train to stop and pick you up. It’s usually no longer than 10 minutes.
Walt Disney’s Carousel of Progress: Sit in a moving theatre of this opening day attraction in Magic Kingdom as you learn about the advancements of technology through from classic Disney World animatronics. This is a 20 minute long experience, but perfect for those who love a classic Disney ride. Wait times are usually 10 minutes or less, too!
