Ultimate Guide for Toddlers in Hollywood Studios

Feb. 13, 2024

Hollywood Studios with Toddlers

Hollywood Studios is one the four theme parks in Walt Disney World. Here, you can immerse yourself in old Hollywood, lands centered around big feature hits, and characters galore. Many of the rides in this park are best suited for bigger kids and adults, but there is still PLENTY for toddlers to do. From rides, to shows, and even character meet and greets, here is a breakdown of how you can have the best day in Hollywood Studios with a toddler.

What is Hollywood Studios Known for?

Hollywood Studios used to be considered a half day park, but has been recently reimagined. Now the park features Toy Story Land, Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, and more unique attractions. Even just walking around will bring magic to your toddlers eyes since they can see some of their favorite feature films and series come to life around them. Shrink to the size of a toy in Toy Story Land. See some of your favorite Car’s characters on Sunset Boulevard outside of Lightning McQueen’s Racing Academy. And even walk around the planet of Batuu in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge.

BEST Attractions for Toddlers in Hollywood Studios

When picking out the best attractions for toddlers, I took in to consideration what the majority of toddlers could enjoy (ages 1-5). All of these attractions have no height requirement, are not super loud, and are generally aimed to be enjoyed by younger kids. I have an included a “more to consider” section for those toddlers that are are more adventurous, taller, or on the older end of the age range.

Rides

Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway: Ride a trackless vehicle (train) and become immersed in Mickey and Minnie’s cartoon world. This ride does whip around rather quickly, but my toddlers love it!

Toy Story Mania: Hit targets in this 4D arcade style game that takes you around Andy’s room. Please note that in order to get the whole experience, 3D glasses should be worn. If you have a smaller toddler or baby with you, the lap bar might not reach them, so they will need to sit on your lap for safety.

Shows

Green Army Drum Corps: Enjoy the classic Green Army Men as they play the drums and march through Toy Story Land throughout the day.

Lightning McQueen’s Racing Academy: Watch a life size Lightning McQueen take on the newest racing simulator with his buddies from the film Cars.

Muppet Vision 3D: Watch your favorite Muppet characters appear on screen and in real life during this cute and funny show.

Disney Junior Play and Dance!: Dance and sing with some of your little ones favorite Disney Junior characters. This show is about 10 minutes long and features Vampirina, Doc McStuffins, Timon, and Mickey.

Vacation Fun-An Original Animated short with Mickey and Minnie: Watch an original Mickey short at the Mickey Shorts Theater.

Character Experiences

Hollywood Studios has GREAT character experiences. Below are all the characters you are able meet, greet or see in Hollywood Studios. There is even a character dining option at Hollywood and Vine. Keep your eyes peeled for other characters walking around throughout the day, too!

Toy Story Land:

  • Buzz Lightyear
  • Woody
  • Jessie

Pixar Place:

  • Mr. Incredible
  • Mrs. Incredible
  • Edna Mode
  • Frozone
  • Sulley

  • Ariel (Live Action)

  • BB8
  • Chewbacca
  • Darth Vader

  • The Mandalorian
  • Kylo Ren
  • Rey
  • Vi Moradi
  • First Order Stormtrooper

Animation Courtyard:

  • Chip
  • Dale
  • Doc McStuffins
  • Fancy Nancy
  • Pluto
  • Vampirina

Echo Lake:

  • Donald Duck

Grand Avenue:

  • Goofy

Echo Lake: Celebrity Spotlight:

  • Olaf

Commissary Lane, Red Carpet Dreams:

  • Mickey
  • Minnie

More Hollywood Studios Attractions to Consider:

Fantasmic!: Watch this iconic nighttime show full of characters, special effects, and unique storytelling from Mickey Mouse himself. This show is just under 30 minutes long, but is only offered at night, so keep that in mind if you have overtired little ones.

Alien Swirling Saucers: Spin around with the aliens from Toy Story. This ride is adorable, but kids must be 32″ or taller to ride.

Beauty and the Beast: Live on Stage: Enjoy a live-action musical take on Beauty and the Beast. This show is 30 minutes long, so it may not be the best for younger toddlers.

For the First Time in Forever: A Sing Along Celebration: Enjoy the story of Frozen told through witty historians and songs from the film. The only reason this show did not make the list is because it is an hour long.

What Should You Reserve Lightning Lanes For?

Unless you are planning on heading to these attractions during Early Entry as a Resort Guest or getting right in line as the park opens, I suggest booking Lightning Lanes for the following attractions:

  • Toy Story Mania
  • Alien Swirling Saucers
  • Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway
